The First Article About My Books

The author Joleen Eide-Johansen is currently writing her new book. This is her first non-fiction book.

"The Distorted Illusion We Call Reality" talks about the illusion of our reality and how to release the fears which are stopping us from living our lives to the fullest.

This much is clear: this Scottish born author writes about one's inner powers. In the center of her books is the intuitive consciousness, the soul and the spiritual, which are all skilfully incorporated in her wonderful fictional stories. ‘Everyone who is interested in self-development will find something to think about in my books and can benefit from the stories. However they can also be just an entertaining read’, says the 37-year old writer.

Apart from writing, painting is also her passion. She is also a therapeutic adviser as a certified EFT practitioner. ‘The Rhythm of the changing seasons on the island and the peacefulness of the Off-season allows me the luxury to fully concentrate on my writing in the winter months’.

In 2012 appeared her first novel "The Unexpected Angel" followed by "Jennifer gets what Jennifer wants" in 2013. Both novels are in English and can be purchased from Amazon as Kindle editions.

She is convinced that ‘our thoughts create our reality’, and that we could all contribute to creating a happier world, by knowing what we like, taking time to see and know what we are grateful for, instead of always focusing on the don’t wants or don’t likes of life. Joleen first moved to Ibiza in 1998 and lived here till 2003, then moved to London for 5 years, only to return on the island for good in 2008. ‘I write from the heart. Through my writing, I hope to inspire people to actively connect with their own hearts and to take back the control that our ego has over our lives.’

In her free time she enjoys long walks with her dog Marley and meditates, and if she feels a little out of sorts, she taps on any feelings of dis-ease until it dissolves. "Es Vedra is my favorite spot in Ibiza. I come here to meditate quite often."

She gets her creative kick from meeting other people: "So many lovely, positive people live in Ibiza. I tend to let them influence the stories I write", says the author.
